S.S Flare's Dining Quarters

Ashlai yawned as she woke up from her light nap in her bunker quarters, the little hour and a half that she did have off-shift when they finally gave her a break. Working on this ship was hard work, especially when it always moved twice as fast as you would expect it to be. Wiping her eyes and straightening out her hair, Ashlai blinked as she walked on forward to the dining quarters, walking down the stairs and passing the lower rankees who ate in the shift before them. She was eating with the captain, the quarter master, the carpenter, the master gunner, and ect. Just like she had done every day.

Sitting down at the table, she looked at what was on the menu for today. There was a large plate of sea biscuits, these hard and dried up pieces of hard bread, and they were very dry. Salt? Ashlai checked and saw a small leather pouch of salt and mugs of rum were set up already as Ashlai took her assigned set and took a small sip, getting used to the taste as she also took note to the salted beef and the pieces of peeled potato that was barely cooked.

"Hmm, hello Captain," she greeted as she sprinkled salt onto her hardtack.

Lucai was eating with her fellow workers quater master , master gunner etc.. Lucai was disapointed in the food once more but what could she do it was life and she had to face it... Lucai had been thinking alot to herself recently about where next to plunder and were they ever going to find atlantis.. Lucai picked up the sea biscuits and began munching them when the Sailing Master Ashlai came in and spoke...

"Hmmm, Hello Captain."

Lucai turned to face her shipmaster as she sat down and began eating... Lucai said in a calm tone back to Ashlai

" I am fine Ship Master Ashlai im just dissapointed by the food once more and how are you?have a good sleep?"

After Lucai had finished speaking she looked out through the windows peeking at the pure blue sea glisenting in the sunlight.... Lucai was still muching on the biscuts about the only food she could stand at the moment.

Ashlai calmly stared at the salted beef and took a portion onto her plate, and then put it up to her mouth. She perked up her lips at the salty taste. They heavily salt it so that it doesn't go bad, she knew that....but this was way too salty. Ashlai took a long sip of rum to get the taste out of her mouth as she looked up to her captain.

"Not to well, but I managed to sleep anyway, cap'n," replied Ashlai with a smile as she puled on her brown cap with their jolly roger on it. "After looking at a few maps and such, I've managed to escape us from a rather small whirlpool that would've thrown us off course. We're heading for a small mercantile island....maybe for some raids...and decent food," she just had to add in.

Ashlai was amongst the youngest on board, so she didn't have the experience of the pirate lifestyle, but she was slowly adapting to it. Though she did want the several luxurious cakes and meats that she had at her house. Rich girl living in a pirate world....sad story, ne?

Lucie was munching somemore and enticed by the beauty of the sea before her eyes when her shipmaster spoke once more... This was vital information Ashlai had provided Lucai thought to herself hmmm Ashlai is by far the best ship master navigator out there I would perish in the sea without her...

Lucai then turned on her seat to face Ashlai and said in a soothing hushed voice..

"this is great news we wont crash now i dont know what i do without you Ashlai you are the best navigator out there the most important person on this ship.... What isle do you speak of as i do crave some good food to feast upon..."

Lucai spoke once more to her shipmaster and wondered how blessed she was to have her on her ship... Lucai then began to fantaise about some good food which usually isnt good for the brain/person but today Lucai didnt care she hadnt had some decent grub in months it was salty cheap stuff for as long as she could remember....

Lucai spoke once more to her shipmaster...

" Hmm ive been eating and looking at the sea to long i better get some sleep like you did or steer this boat at the helm cause its not gonna steer it's self...Ill go in a few minutes unless their is an emergency this view is amazing..."

Heavy thumping could be heard outside the dinning hall. Like boots on wood, wich was actually what the sound was. The giant among men, Captain Alan's boots were thumping across the deck as he looked around the Flare. The Pandora could be seen in the distance, but looked no bigger than one of the orange's its captain loved so much. Beneath the Flare, to it's left, were two small roboats, whose men were already on deck. Alan called out, hand resting casually on his cutlass's hilt. "Captain Lucai! I wish to speak to you!"

Ashlai sighed as she tied her long and silky black hair upwards into a bun to keep it up and out of her face. She looked at the hard piece of sea biscuit in front of her and she took the bag of salt and sprinkled it on the top, putting it up to her top. She had made approximately twelve salt crystals on it, just to give the right amount of the flavoring to it. She put it up to her lips and took yet another bite.

She crossed her legs and looked up. "Well, it's one of those small islands, but I think it's one of those fort bases for weapons and stuff for Degas, but people live on it. Maybe we can get some food and sneak some gunpowder--," but her voice by the warning bell and everybody setting up. A raid? She didn't spot any other boats...but maybe they were coming from the northeast and cut through, which she didn't expect.

She saw that it was a captain...maybe he was no bad but under the table the master gunner slipped her a dagger. Ashlai took it and blinked at him.

Lucai was happily munching and talking with her shipmaster and crew about this island which was apparntly a war kinda one anywho they would raid it and plunder it all..... Suddenly a raid bell went off and from the distance a voice called out wishing to speak with Lucai who was this man and where was his ship Lucai could not see it from here...

Lucai turned to her shipmaster who seemed ready to fight... Lucai kept her sword in her pouch to make it seem like she was calm and woudnt attack and she woudnt attack unless these people were truly enimies...

Lucai spoke to her shipmaster in a whisper...

"we will only attack if needs be but for now lets go greet them the two of us are you up for it..."

Lucai had great faith in her shipmaster fighting abilities if it came down to it... Lucai signalled for Ashlai to follow her and headed towards the door and to the noise..... Lucai walked along the wooden floored coridor creaking with everystep untill she could see the man who had yelled her name and she spoke to him saying..

" It is i Captain Lucai what do you want Mr Something or rather.."

Lucai spoke normally but baffeled towards the end of her sentence and looked around seeing the man and checking Ashlai was there with her she didnt want to be alone with a person who had just boarded her ship with some oranges?!?

Alan grinned happily. "Good! You're here!" His grin widened. "And for once in a while someone hasn't called me 'George's Pirate!' Now, I BRING YOU ORANGES!" He chanted aloud, bustling with happiness and energy at his own statement. It was rather creepy and disturbing to most, but he only laughed, as he loved his insanity.

Ashlai blinked and held her dagger once again, listening in on what was happening, stroking a finger down the metal part of the blade, on the flat surface. "Oranges...to prevent scurvy right?" she asked...because she loved her body healthy and what not. Plus they were running low on things like that nowadays, jesus. Ashlai stood up and placed her dagger onto the table, walking over to the captain, staring him up and down, blinking as she looked at the crate, taking it into her hands carefully and calmly.

She opened the crate and saw oranges. "Hmm...interesting. Whats the catch?" she asked with a smirk.

Now, I BRING YOU ORANGES! were the words that caught Lucai's attention was this guy crazy or nuts or both... Lucai turned and saw her shipmaster ask all the right questions before Lucai had asked them...

Lucai turned back to the captain and picked up an orange and said " Thanks for the gift but i have nothing for you ... except that i wont kick you off the boat=D so what is your purpose in boarding my ship and who are you?..."

Lucai spoke in quite a serious manner to show she was not to just be pushed over and that when posh comes to shove she would not be standing or holding back...

Lucai awaited this odd mans response to her and Ashlai's question and whilst doing so began to peel and nosh on the succulent orange as the juice poured out of it over the edge of the boat and dripping slowly into the vast ocean

Alan blinked as his men shuffled more crates of oranges onto the ship. He laguehd. "Catch? No Catch, I just want 'em off of my ship!" He chanted. He blinked and repeated again, waving his arms in a flashy manner. "I BRING YOU ORANGES!" He then mumbled like someone muttering the medical conditions and side affects on a sommercial. "Yes...To prevent scurvey."

"No catch? Hmm....thank you!" Ashley proclaimed as she took her dagger with the orange and cut at the sides with the sharp part, beginning to peel it lightly, trying to get all of it off, grabbing a handful of the orange peels and throwing it into the wastebasket, setting it down onto her plate as she took out a knife and then cut the orange in half. "Well, my teeth have been getting a bit rotty, thanks again," she replied as she took a small bite into the orange. She hadn't tasted the great food in a while.

Alan blinked and fumbled with the edge of his sword. He stared at the oranges, blinking angrily. The orange insulted him! How dare it! How dare it! He grabbed his first pistol and twirled it masterfully before aiming it and shooting a random orange straight through. It insulted him! He blinked and put his pistol away, rubbing the back of his head nervously. "Sorry...It insulted me..."

Sorry It Insulted me had just proven to Lucai that this guy was not your normal sane guy but he was something differnt which managed to put a smile on Lucai's face which hadnt appeared there in months...

Lucai coughed and spoke again slightly annoyed that she was being ignored and she was the captain of this vessel...

"Like i asked you earlier but you didnt answer Mr... Who are you? and what are you doing on my vessel apart giving out and shooting oranges??"

Lucai spoke louder this time and directly at this man so that he definetly heard her she didnt want to be ignored again or maybe something bad would happen.

Alan blinked, clueless that he had forgot a question. He rubbed his head and looked at Lucai. He laughed gently and fiddled with his earing and gave a mock bow. He laughed, louder this time and spoke, seemingly forgetting the oranges. "I am Captain Alan 'Axe to the Head' Axtan, at your service."
